Tracing natural stones - students of the AKTIV-Schule Emleben visit KMD

On November 14, 2019, we hosted the elementary school students of the AKTIV School Emleben. For several years now KMD has hosted the student excursion where kids get insights into companies and institutions in and around the city of Gotha.

Managing Director Sebastian Schilling and Carsten Steinbrecher, Head of Project Management, took the children on an exciting journey all under the motto "Tracing natural stones". The group learned a great deal about the formation and diversity of natural stone, explored our warehouse, the factory and shipping department, and met our construction team.

Headmaster Udo Balasch, teacher Mrs. Buntin and the children were excited and had bright eyes. Because after solving the tricky natural stone puzzle everyone was invited for a sweet treat in our cafeteria and took home a small marble turtle and the book "My friend is a stonemason".

Since 2018 KMD holds the quality seal "Family-friendly employer". Inspiring young people for our company is very
important to us. That's why we engage in different ways for the next generation of tomorrow's professionals in our community, offering career awareness camps and student internships, and participating in career days.

KMD Company:

„It is never to early to inspire the professionals of tomorrow.“
