Residence Haus Fritz – Light, tranquillity, and natural stone as a guiding theme
It is immediately obvious that the design of the Haus Fritz residence combines tranquillity, openness, and timeless elegance. The new building features expansive glass surfaces, lots of natural light and a clean, open architectural style. Both inside and out, a warm colour scheme of beige and natural tones dominates. They give the house a relaxed atmosphere.
The large outdoor area with its pool, terraces and plenty of greenery and trees invites you to relax. Architecture, nature, and design come together in perfect harmony. The clean lines of the house are consistently carried through to the interior: everything feels calm, elegant and modern. A carefully chosen combination of materials runs like a red thread through every room.
Natural stone as the heart of the design
Two carefully selected natural stones bring character and identity to the entire residence. They define the rooms, create a warm atmosphere, and combine the different areas into a harmonious look.
The main natural stone is the exclusive quartzite White Silk from Brazil. Its surface features delicate swirly veins in shades of gold, brown, and anthracite that elegantly run through the light background. This natural texture appears both dynamic and tranquil, making it ideal for an interior designed to present elegance and serenity.
White Silk is used very consistently throughout Haus Fritz. The natural stone covers walls and floors, as well as furniture and the fireplace. This creates a design concept that connects all the rooms and makes White Silk the heart of the design. The material creates new visual effects in different areas.
In addition to its aesthetic appeal, the white quartzite also offers practical benefits. Thanks to its hardness and durability it is ideal for bathrooms, floors, and kitchen countertops. It thus combines beauty, practicality and durability.
A spectacular eye-catcher: the natural stone wall out of Silver Stream
The centrepiece of the house is a monumental, six-meter-high wall made out of Silver Stream marble. It was installed using large-format slabs with a continuous veining pattern over an area of 31 m².
The veins of the Silver Stream flow seamlessly into one another, creating a breath taking, non-stop natural stone effect. It covers the entire height of all floors and together with the curved staircase it forms a highly expressive architectural feature.
Silver Stream is a type of marble. It is characterized by a unique combination of white, grey and black tones, as well as eye-catching veining and smooth curved layers. These elements give the material a dynamic texture and a classic character.
Interesting is the contrast between the surfaces: White Silk has a polished finish, creating a calm and elegant appearance. The large wall cladding has a waterjet-cut finish, creating a rough and archaic look. This provides a deliberate contrast.
Timeless elegance through materials and design
The “Haus Fritz” is a great example of how natural stone shapes architecture. The consistent use of this material creates a calm, elegant atmosphere that is reflected in every room.
White Silk brings brightness and warmth to the entire home, while Silver Stream creates a sense of dynamism and drama. The result is a residence that blends modernity, natural beauty, and timeless elegance, where architecture, design, and materials come together in perfect harmony.
KMD processed more than 120 square meters of natural stone to bring this successful project to life. Working closely with the interior design studio ASH, we handled all aspects of the natural stone work, from engineering through production and final installation.
