Climate-neutral forms of energy also offer interesting economic aspects to responsible business. In addition to the production of sustainable natural stone, we already had several changes in our organisation and processes since 2018 and we are aligning them in an ecologically lasting way.

start is half the journey

An energy-efficient refurbishment of the lighting system in our production, shipping area and all offices and common rooms using LED technology was a fundamental step in 2019. Funded by the "GREEN invest" program, this investment enabled us to sustainably reduce our energy costs, improve the lighting quality as well as the working conditions in the company. At the same time, we made a valuable contribution to climate protection.

green electricity for own use

Currently we are implementing a photo-voltaic system. Solar modules collect sunlight and an inverter converts it into electrical energy that can be used immediately. The intention here is to cover our own electricity requirement of 122,000 kWh per year. Unused electricity will be transferred into the power grid. In cooperation with Stadtwerke Gotha GmbH and LEG Thüringen, this improvement can be realised and green electricity is generated for our own needs.

With the visions and ideas for sustainable development, we are still far from reaching our goal. In the future, we plan to implement an energy management system for an ongoing optimisation of our electricity consumption. This system will improve the use of individual consumption points and make our energy requirements more efficient. In addition, we are creating a charging infrastructure as the basis for switching a part of our vehicle fleet to e-mobility.
