KMD receives quality seal as Family-friendly employer.
KMD Natursteine GmbH & Co. KG has now officially been certified as a "Family-friendly Employer". The award of the same name is granted to German companies and organisations by the Bertelsmann Foundation since 2011. As part of an official award ceremony on 18 January 2018, managing partner Thomas Dietz received the certificate from Sabine Wosche, the managing director of LEG Thüringen.
In a comprehensive review process, applicants must demonstrate a sustainable, family-friendly human resource policy. By means of an anonymous survey, all employees of the company are interviewed. "We were extremely curious how the investment would be but especially the result, because the positive order situation and the associated processes and structures in our growing company before daily challenges," said Thomas Dietz. KMD's results were in the upper range in all five categories: corporate and leadership culture, communication, work organization, support services, and strategy and sustainability.
"The survey showed a high degree of satisfaction with the corporate culture practiced in everyday operations. Through the management, a number of family-friendly offers are provided, communicated and actively used by many employees ", said the auditor of the Bertelsmann Foundation, Angelika Pietzsch, summarizing the result. The company supports employees with family responsibilities and during special life stages. In addition to permanent employment contracts, flexible working hours and family-friendly part-time models, the company contributes to the childcare costs of employees, offers company pension plans and life accounts.
The management is pleased that the company succeeds in large parts in creating a family-friendly working environment for all employees. The survey also revealed that the company lives a culture of mutual respect and participation as well as a sense of partnership. The positive result thus strengthens future action. "We share a passion for stone at KMD. Excellence and personal commitment are the foundation of our success. For this we create a working atmosphere in which all employees feel comfortable and can give their best," says owner Thomas Dietz.
The seal of quality is valid for three years until 2021 and can then be confirmed with a new test procedure.
